Fun Friday!

I know, I know, this is a day late. But Friday was busy! I finally finished a slouchy hat that I will wear and that I love! I have had issues with several different crochet patterns, so I found one that combined crochet and knitting. Although I know how to knit basics now, I struggled with knitting on this hat, so I created my own band.  I also edited some of the rest of the hat, so it is pretty much my own work now - with a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. I did a lot of double crochets, and by reading another pattern, I learned to get some of the slouchy effect you can increase, then decrease, then increase, at different intervals. I am still terrible with measurements, so I had to get how many to do at each round from a few patterns.

Go Pink week is coming up at my school and I found the perfect yarn! I volunteered to make a travel mug cozy, some coasters, and a regular coffee cup cozy. I just loved this as soon as I saw it, it will be perfect for the cozy's. Those pictures will come as soon as I finish.

On Thursday McKayla and I went over to my dads, and my step-mom Laurie had a lot of knitting needles that are basically antiques. They were her grandmothers. Nanny had a ton because even after getting almost a whole set, Laurie still had some left over, plus her set, plus she gave some to my sister in law, Kumi. That is a whole lot knitting needles! But I am oh so excited, because now I have plenty to use while practicing. I decided that I need to start simple, with a scarf. Trying to jump right in to do the band of my hat was a bad, bad, bad, idea. So until next time, Happy Crafting!

Yet another snow day - or should I say week?

We finally got some decent snow! Wednesday I spent the day finishing up some small crochet projects - that I decided were not really finished, so no pictures of them, yet. I also taught myself to knit!
I got a bit farther then this - I knitted a few rows, and purled a few, but pulled it out in the end. It looked good, but I was just practicing.

Thursday was a wonderful day!!! Not only did FCPS call school off the night before - so no annoying call at 6am, but I spent the day with my oldest niece, McKayla!  Here she is taking credit for my snow man - she was supposed to help, but as usual got side tracked. But swooped in to take the credit!

Then, my Sale-A-Bration package came from Stampin' Up!!  It was like Christmas all over again. I have to say, Bryan and I spent a chunk of money on this - but I got about $150 to $200 worth of free/reduced items! I qualified for 7 free items, plus my demonstrator discount, plus normal hostess benefits. I am stocked up on materials for awhile! It's going to be a great stamping weekend. Bryan sees it as peace and quiet all weekend while I am in my craft room! (the cupcake bags are not Stampin' Up! not quite sure why I put those in the box!)

The best part is, I still have my normal weekend ahead of me!

Watermarks!

Okay, so I can be pretty simple sometimes. I am way excited because I figured out how to add my watermarks on my pictures using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  Its not really a watermark - that was the trick! All I did was set up a blank Multiple Output project - picked the 12x12 size - picked Photo Only - then inserted my picture - then designed my watermark! Once I was done designing my watermark, I grouped them together so it is easy as pie to copy and past to other pages! Then I just keep changing the picture or adding pages and putting new pictures in, copy and paste my watermark on, then export! Plus I get to use cute Stampin' Up! stamps in my watermark! As I said.. I am simple sometimes :)

On another note.... here are two pictures of my own original works.  I often have an idea in my head about what I want to do, and its easier to look on other websites like splitcoaststampers.com to see how others did something similar, then I just edit to my own liking. This saves time, but when I really have time to sit in my newly cleaned craft area, I get to playing and cute stuff happens if I do say so my self. LOL.
Plus I just had to add more pictures with my watermark ;)

this is the wreath we are doing at camp Saturday

I made these for my friend Amy for her Bday, she had a frame needing mats!

Snow Day!!!

How I love snow days!! This is my first official post of my new blog! On Saturday I have my first Stamp Camp, and I have spent my 4 day weekend getting ready. Here is a picture of the cute stuff we will be doing.

I was also playing around with some other wreath ideas, so here is a picture of another wreath I did. It took waaaaay too much time for a camp, so we won't be doing it, but it is cute and fun!

My fingers are crossed for more snow days!!!!
