April Stamp Camp

I am really excited for my April Stamp Camp. First, I wasn't able to have my March one, which really was awful because that is my favorite month!
So in Winchester, which is where I work and is right around the corner from where I live, we have a festival every year called Apple Blossom. Its a BIG deal here. We even bring in famous people for Grand Marshals and such. Last year we had Val Kilmer! So this month we are doing an Easter Card, an Easter Treat, and an Apple Blossom flowers pin!

I loved them so much that I didn't even change much! I really like Pink Pirouette right now, so instead of using the pink she used, I chose the lighter Pink Pirouette. These are super easy because it is just using the Big Shot and the Top Note die and a variety of punches! They are fairly inexpensive as well - especially if you buy the larger packs of cupcakes. I used the Happy Easter sentiment to cover up any of the sell by dates printed on the package.

The flower is like some of the others I have posted, using the Big Shot, Fun Flowers Die, buttons, fabric glue, starch, and a hot iron. Cut out your fabric, spray starch the flowers, then use a hot iron on them. While hot and damp, crinkle them up. Let them dry, then glue together! I love these! I have many different kinds, and I use them for pins and hair bows!

I wish I could say that this is all mine because it is soo cute! I wanted to do another punch card, because they are so fun and easy. And I wanted a bunny card, so I started playing with punches, but at the time I just didn't have the right ones. Its hard to visualize when you don't have the right tools! So I went searching on this great website for Demonstrators. And looky what I found! I changed it up a bit- it was originally a much more flowery and bright card, and the bunny was brown. I wanted to use the Sew Suite Paper shown here because it looks like little radishes! I also wanted to use the Good Egg stamp set. So, looking at her card, which she cased as well, I figured out which punches I needed!

I will post specific punches and such needed for the projects at another time. For now, I have assignments to finish grading!

Cupcake Challenge!

So I have not posted for awhile because I was busy baking, baking, baking, oh, and baking. I had 10 dozen  cupcakes to make, 5 for each category, and I made my stepmom, Laurie, some birthday cake balls.  The Cupcake Challenge was a fundraiser to benefit the Red Wagon Ministry and CCAP, providing diapers for those in need. I entered in the "Best Taste" and the "Best Decoration" categories. So here are my pics!!

 Here are my yummy Cherry Limeade Cupcakes. Complete with straw, cherry, and lime slice. I LOVE Sonics Cherry Limeade drinks, so I made them into a cupcake! These were loved by everyone and went pretty quick!

Here are the Best Decoration cupcakes. I cut out wrappers using my Cricut. I made honey vanilla cupcakes with no egg! I ran out of eggs, and didn't have time to run out. So I subsituted some things. They came out great! Then I did a lemon glaze with swirls of melty chocolates, then dusted pink luster dust over top. I was going for springy!

I did not win anything, but had a great time! Here is a picture of the cake balls I made Laurie. Cake balls/pops are so easy to make! I followed Bakerella's recipe of I baked cake, crumbled, with 1 can of frosting. Mix it all up and its like yummy playdough!

Its not all about paper!

So I also made a few other things for my craft show that are not made of paper. I made some flower pens. I love these! They are really simple, but fun! When I carried a bunch of these at work, people didn't even know they were pens!

Next I made some feather boa monsters/bunnies. A couple of students made these for our Go Pink! Week at MHS, and they inspired me to make some theme ones - Easter Bunnies and Apple Blossom Monsters! These are still on sale - for $8 and $7 so contact me if you are interested!

I also made pins/hairclips with the Fun Flowers Die and the Big Shot from Stampin' Up! I love that die! I use it for a ton of things. I make the flowers crumply by spraying with starch, then ironing them, then while they are hot and damp from the starch, I crumple the and rub them in my hands. I let them dry this way. Then I use fabric glue to glue each piece together and then hot glue the pins on. I like the look of the crumpled flowers better then just cutting them out and gluing them together. I sell these as well, only $2.00 each! I can customize them to your want/need.

Last of the paper Craft Show items..

So here is the last of the paper craft show items! So I saw something like these on www.kerryspapercrafts.com. I decided to jazz them up a bit. I love these because they are super easy to make and are easy to just slip in your purse! I am pretty sure I got my measurements from thesouthernstamper.blogspot.com. I love her stuff! 

This is the inside - see just big enough to hold a pen and the sticky notes. I love compact things. Hope you all enjoy - and feel free to message me if you want to purchase some!

More Craft Show Stuff

So I know its been awhile, and I promised more right away. I got a bad head cold and have been miserable all week. But, I am back! I am quite busy trying to get ready for this cupcake challenge. I am half wondering what in the world was I thinking!

Anywho,  here are some cute treat bags that I created. I have seen similar ones on several blogs - but can't find any of them at the moment. As soon as I find them I will post! I made these with the bottom of the Matchbox die and the Big Shot from Stampin' Up!. Then I cut paper to wrap around. My craft room is major disarray, but as soon as its not I will find my exact measurements! I kind of played with the paper to try and figure out how tall I wanted the bag to be. Each strap is 12" long - so be careful with how tall you are going with the bag if you use paper for the strap. I used ribbon for some and paper for others, the picture only shows a few, the only ones left after my craft show! You can see all of the ones I made in my craft show pictures. I used brads and the Decorative Label Punch to decorate the bags. Then I cut a strip of paper to go around the bottom - and used SU's! white gel pen to do the stitches.

And it continues...

So I am still going on with more Craft Fair Items! I made a lot and I don't want to cram the blog with them all at once! The next item I just love! I got the new Petal Cone Die from Stampin' Up! and love it! I sat down with it and wanted to do something where I could take a piece of DSP and just put it through once and have exactly what I need. For a normal petal cone you needed two, to paste together. Well, one crank through the Big Shot - a little Sticky Tape and whalla!! I love this because it took half a sheet of DSP - one crank through the Big Shot - and I had everything I needed! I did add a little tag - but it was totally not needed. I just used the flip side of the DSP to do the accent pieces. And I added a button, brad, or sticky gem. If I used brads, I didn't need tape to stick the flag on - but with the buttons and the gems, I used sticky tape to hold it on.  These are all I have left!

I also made some adorable pencil containers for Easter. The decoration on the front is an eraser! I got the template for making the box from the fabulous Southern Stamper (thesouthernstamper.blogspot.com). I love these and will be using what I have left/making more for my students as their Easter surprise - so shhhh! When the cardstock was cut out but not together yet  I used the same color ink pad and stamped it using Holiday Blitz Easter stamp and Teeny Tiny Wishes Easter Stamp. Except that one So Saffron box - I did use a bit of Melon Mambo on it!

More Craft Fair Items..

Here are 2 more Craft Fair items from this past weekend. These were really good sellers too - especially the small ones! Super easy too! Just cut the notebooks, I did about an inch in on the little ones, and about 2 1/2 on the large ones. I used scissors and my hobby knife. Then I trimmed paper and glued it on with Tombow Liquid Glue from Stampin' Up! Make sure you put your ribbon on first though! I made two where I forgot, lol. Hope you enjoy!
